THE LEGEND OF BILLY BLIN - I created this character, a half-man/half-bird who walks on stilts and crutches looking for his lost youth, based on everything I was into at the time - Jim Henson, Hieronymos Bosch, William Blake, the Cirque du Soleil. I was listening to a lot of Fairport Convention, a lot of traditional Renaissance folksongs. The name Billy Blin is a folk name for a fairy/magical person, but I think I pretty much made it my own. I did a couple of watercolor drawings with some text on them and gave it out as a kid's story to friends and family. This is now in the works as both a live show with music & performers and an animated film.
